This year The MGroup has decided to enter a team in the Twin Town Challenge(TTC16), an annual charity event that will involve 100 cars, costing less than £500, being driven from Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, to Le Touquet in France and back via Silverstone and Abbeville circuits with a dozen challenges en route. It will start on Friday 27th May 2016 and finish on Monday 30th May 2016.

Aside from all the fun times to be had, the primary objective of the Twin Town Challenge is to raise money for Special Effect, a charity that helps people with physical disabilities to put fun and inclusion back into their lives by helping them to play video games, hence having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation. Our intrepid foursome, Peter Smith, Darren Green, Steve Basham and Mark Crossfield, who all admit to enjoy dressing up in silly costumes and taking part in karaoke, are approaching this with all the bravado of those who have never done this challenge before, but are certain they will overcome all. January can be a hectic month for accountants due to tax return deadlines, so activities like buying a sub £500 car, deciding on a theme, getting the vehicle in tip-top condition both engine and paint-job wise (and obviously getting the costumes right), have taken a decided back seat.
